Some like it hot!

Monty's Gourmet Foods is the brainchild of Monty Fritts, who, in 1999, made his first award winning hot sauce called Fire Lizard at the request of a friend of his.

Soon after that came the next 3 hot sauces, Smoke & Fire, Around The World, and Dancing Fire. Each of these sauces had a unique flavor and a really intense fire that lit up all those midwest cliliheads that were looking for a better, more flavorful way to spice up their food.

After a year of creating sauces for his friends and family someone made the suggestion he should start making his sauces on a larger scale and start entering them into contests.

He did, and the awards are far to many to mention here! (See website for list of awards)

As Monty is fond of saying, "I'm a card carrying fat man,,, I like to eat and eat well. So you can take it to the bank when I say something tastes really good! Everything on this site is the best of everything I can find, so please enjoy the foods presented here. Always trust a fat man when it comes to food!"

Mama Dida's Gourmet Salsa

Salsakc While growing up in South Kansas City, Idida (Dida) Avila spent hours in the kitchen with her mother preparing their family’s traditional Puerto Rican and Mexican dishes. Over the years, Dida’s love of cooking grew and she began to develop recipes of her own.
Dida created her salsa in 1995 for her family and friends to use in the preparation of taco meat as a healthy alternative to commercial pre-packaged, preservative-filled taco seasonings.

Dida has also been interviewed and featured in many articles in the Kansas City Star and other publications. In November, 2005, Dida was the guest chef in a cooking segment on Kansas City Live, a live local morning television show.
Dida has a head full of new recipes to produce so please watch for new Mama Dida’s products.

Mama Dida’s products are made from all natural ingredients and contain no artificial preservatives. Mama Dida's specialty salsas are unique because they’re not vinegar based, which is the ingredient that gives most salsas their acidic flavor and "burn". Rather, Mama Dida's salsas use a lemon juice base which makes for a smoother flavor, yet still allows for varying degrees of "heat".
